I don't like to get political here, 'cos I like all you guys too much to bring up such a contentious subject, but I'm getting a bit pissed off at the US Republican attacks on the NHS. It has it's problems and for some it has been a let down. You can debate the pros and cons all you like, I have no issue with that. This is what I have issues with:

Republican Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia, said that the U.K. and Canada "don't have the appreciation of life as we do in our society, evidently."

Yeah, that's right. We don't care whether people live or die. We euthanize anyone over sixty who has a cold and disabled children are smothered at birth. Us "socialist" societies are barbarians! *rolls eyes*

I am utterly offended.

Anyway, I feel better for having said that. I'm gonna shelve the politics now, promise! :)

*pets* Some of us over here don't like Republicans like him either, the creep. I hate it when people from other countries are like "All of you from X country are/think this!" I don't like that when people in my own country do it, but it's even more offensive when someone from elsewhere does it, isn't it?

Oh, don't get me wrong we know that probably the vast majority of you don't agree with this (that we're evil etc). All complaints I've heard about this story have been directed at those Republicans and not the general populace. We get what these politicians are trying to do.

It's just a pity that those people with the most ridiculous and hateful views seem to be the ones with the loudest voices. That applies to every country in the world.

That said, I still love Americans! ;)

I very much appreciate that! ^_^ It seems like those who do are few and far between... Seriously, though, it does suck that the people who are awfullest are the ones who get the most publicity!
