So I was sat in the dentist's waiting room yesterday, bored out of my skull, reading Empire magazine. They had a two page story about the new Holmes movie, which, surprisingly, I couldn't care less about, and at the bottom of the page they did a run down of all the (western) screen Sherlocks. When I read what it said about Brett's Holmes I just had to write it down.

"Admirably incisive and eccentric at first, but turned into a basket-case as the series ran on and on."

I let out a strange noise, somewhere between humour and horror, which startled the already nervous people in the waiting room.

Don't let it be said that journalists aren't sensitive when it comes to matters of mental illness. /sarcasm

Seriously WTF?

Holy moly O_O;;; I... kind of hope they didn't know he had bipolar disorder, because if they did, it would just be way beyond callous.

I hope so too! Mind you, that doesn't say a lot for the state of journalism if they didn't research it!

I was just shocked. As a Holmes fan I hold the Granada series in very high esteem and this off-hand remark seemed quite...horrible. *shudders*

This is why I don't read Empire
