Just had a flier through my door from the British National Party. They claim that they say what I think.

You bloody well do not you foul, loud-mouthed, barely literate, ignorant, misguided, homophobic, bully-boy, racist scumbags.

The day that Britain becomes associated with your lot is the day I leave for good, probably along with the 80% of my friends that you will have deported anyway.

Feel free to spout your ill-informed nonsense, that's your right, but don't claim that you're saying what I'm thinking. Someone might actually believe you.

No love,

The lefty, tree-hugging, woolly-liberal-minded, Marxist/Trotskyist/Stalinist (delete as you feel appropriate), traitor who should fuck off to Russia if she doesn't like what you're saying (although I think you'll find that Russia's a democracy now, idiot).

Sorry for the rant. Those guys make me angry.

*applause*

The BNP and the Daily Mail are the UK equivalent of Fox News, except without the unintentional hilarity.

Exactly! Fox News is so outrageously over-the-top that anyone with half a brain cell just laughs at it. Charlie Brooker had a good chuckle at them on Newswipe. With the BNP and the Daily Wail Mail they're a bit more sly and devious and actually occassionaly come across as rather legit. Scary!

There was a section in my dissertation about the media bias and political control by Murdoch and his news empire.

I'm amazed at how many seemingly intelligent people buy into all that right wing propaganda.

On the bright side, at least we don't have Bill O Reilly or Glenn Beck *shudder* I'm a big namby pamby liberal so I usually watch MSNBC for their Fox bashing and general entertainment value (and the angry, tall, glasses wearing hotness that is Keith Olbermann). Sure most of the US news is biased but it's entertaining and like all good Brits, I don't believe anything until the BBC tell me first. Can you believe Fox is viewed by more Americans than any other news channel? Even more than CNN (which is only a little bit biased). Why? Dear god why?!

You won't believe some of the things that I've been called over the years! Granted, I do have a fascination with far left politics, but there's a big difference between being interested in it and actually agreeing with it all.

Can you believe Fox is viewed by more Americans than any other news channel?

Oh, I can believe it, and it makes me weep for humanity!

Yes, I agree. The Beeb isn't perfect by any means, but while it's still funded by public money and not by some tycoon with his own agenda, I'll trust it more than any other news. People in Britain always blither on about bias in BBC news...they really have no idea do they how bad some other stations are do they?

Hehe I must admit that I love pissing off conservatives on the net by talking about my beliefs. I'd rather be a quiche eating liberal than a Fox spewing madman. Fox is a business anyway, if Murdoch could make more money from being a liberal channel, he'd do it in so quickly that you couldn't see him for dust. Could you imagine if Murdoch ran BBC? I'd cry.

Yeah, pissing off conservatives is one of my top ten favourite things to do. They're so easy to wind up, especially if you bad mouth the free market hehe.

Could you imagine if Murdoch ran BBC?

*shudders* It could happen though if the Daily Mail get their way and the licence fee gets scrapped. Murdoch or someone just like him could turn it into a propaganda machine.
