...people have really been bringing the stupid.

Thought some fellow slash fans might find this rather amusing. Some guy who OMG, TOTALLY KNOWS WHY WOMEN WRITE SLASH!!!

Vry clevar acedemik!

Seriously, come back when you have gained more insight into the female mind and then we can talk. No love.

Sheesh, even Freud (the big, arrogant, know-it-all that he was) would rather admit that he could never fully understand women than make spurious claims like this guy does.

Still though, his ill informed, borderline misogyny made me chuckle.

oh god, this guy is hilarious. i have a girlfriend and i'm asexual. WHERE IS HIS GOD NOW?!

what i'd really love to study is the prevalence of slash fans within the asexual community. i've found a few actually, and it makes sense if you think about it, seeing slash can be used as a creative outlet for one's sexuality.

also, this further disproves his logic that slash is simply a guise for us women secretly wanting HOT HETEROSEXUAL DICKINGS IN THE MISSIONARY POSITION.
"And that's a key element that is always emphasised in slash, that this is monogamous, and it's nothing like real gay male sex is."
hahaha. oh. oh. stop. ahaha. damnit.

the watson/holmes example was amazing.

Yeah, two men having sex with each other is actually nothing like two men having sex with each other! Seriously, this man makes logic go boom!

I find the whole thing very annoying. I am very interested in sexuality and all its subtle nuances, so when morons like this come along and try to slap big ugly labels on it, then I get pissed off!

Um, good point there. That would be an interesting study! Sexuality is so fascinating.

sexuality intrigues me, too! i think that people make the wrong assumption when they figure out i'm asexual; just because i don't have much of a libido, doesn't mean i'm not interested in the subject itself and all of its fascinating little inner workings!

... i'm also the biggest deviant i know, ahem. *hoards fics* don't look at me like that.

It's all a question of labels. Once you're labelled as one thing you will always have people making assumptions about you based on their views.

The guy from that video would label me as straight and make the assumption that I couldn't possibly have empathy with people of other sexualities or have leanings in other directions...he'd be very wrong of course, which is why you should ALWAYS DO YOUR BLOODY RESEARCH. Didn't this guy go to school?

Ha ha! I wouldn't dream of judging you, darling!
