Some stuff:

1. I got v.annoyed over the Northern Ireland shootings. I try to keep the journal as light as possible but, seriously, there are no words for how much I DO NOT WANT Northern Ireland to all kick off again

2. In much lighter news, [livejournal.com profile] casablancagirl pointed me in the direction of Yes, Minister fic. I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE YES, MINISTER! (yes, caps were necessary). I mean, my journal title is one big reference to Yes, Minister *sigh*

And three guesses which of my favourite people is in Yes, Prime Minister. (Actually, I have a lot of favourite people so that might not be as easy as it sounds, but I do go on about him quite a bit).

3. When I first started learning Russian I thought it was a bit of a crazy language. Now, the more Russian I learn, the more English seems like the crazy language! Seriously, English is a very silly, overly complicated language.

4. I got a first on my Critical Approaches essay. It was about Dracula and Freudian analysis, so clearly I was always going to rock it. You know, being the big bundle of general neurosis that I am. No, I really am, that's why I can't write fluffy fics, why I can only write angst and cynicism. I will write fluff one day.

PS my icon is not a clue.

Hello! Sorry for wandering over intrusively from yes_minister - I tend to do that. *bangs head*

Yay for Dracula and Freudian analysis! I love that book. Have you got the New Annotated edition? That is just brilliant.

Anyway. Sorry for randomness.

S'okay, you're not intruding, I love random!

Dracula is brilliant! I don't have that annotated edition, that sounds shiny!

Ooh, it is shiny. *bounces* It's more like this amazing random encylopedia, with odd analyses of the text as well. And it treats the whole thing as though it really happened, which is strange but fascinating. And it's made me ship Harker/Dracula.

Harker/Dracula is the only logical ship as far as I'm concerned.

"This man belongs to me!" - see, canon.

Ooh, yes. And don't forget the bit where Harker realises that he's been carried to his room and undressed by Dracula. How can that _not_ be canon? How? *waves arms*

It is canon! Definitely *nods*

Actually, even the academics in the front of my copy of the novel are like "yeah, so Dracula and Harker, they're a bit gay" (only they word it a bit better than that, but you get the idea).

How _could_ it be worded better than that? *looks innocent* That's concise!

Have you read the essay "Kiss me with those red lips"? That's all about the hidden!homoeroticism and sexuality, but I can't _find_ the damn thing! Except in a copy of the book which I haven't got.

I know, I should be at the top of my field lol.

I would love to read that essay! Such things were written just for me.

Oh, I love academic!essays which confirm my shippy nature. I hunt them out especially and brandish them who doubt the inherent nature of everything to be slashy. ;)

you know, this world does need more louis/marcus fluff. yes, i'm encouraging you to procrastinate, what now?!

marcus angst is pretty delicious though, you have to admit, as is that essay you're having to write. if you're as crazy as i think know you are, you're going to do an amazing job. ♥

Louis/Marcus fluff. You know, of all the fluffy things I've ever thought of writing, those two never even entered my mind.

I really do need to write some LK stuff. Marcus angst of the "why do people think I'm so crazy?!" kind. And Louis not knowing whether to stab him or shag him.

marcus needs a little love once in awhile! it usually starts (at least, when my sister and i write about it) when louis miraculously feels bad for him. though a few stab wounds have to occur beforehand for the guilt to really set in.

pleasepleaseplease do!

also, louis/harry fluff is my ultimate weakness.

Louis/Harry is slightly easier to write fluff for I think.

unlike Clouseau/Dreyfus, which is rife with love/hate!

I was tempted for a while to write weird Marcus/Louis/Harry triangle of madness.

it's much easier, they're apparently star-crossed lovers in my sister and i's universe.

dreyfus/clouseau is just about the best thing ever. my sister posted this (http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa167/mauskot/bumps/canonlove.png) on a forum we terrorize, and i think it's quite accurate.

ooh, we did something like that; after the heist, they all stayed together in hotel for the better part of a year.

two beds: three men. it got ugly.

I really want to learn Russian. Languages where you have to decline and conjugate things just make so much sense!

You really must learn it. Apart from being a beautiful language, it is actually a lot easier than it seems. The cyrillic alphabet makes it look more complicated.

It's always hard learning languages with a new alphabet! I had three years of Japanese in college, and I think the easy grammar in Japanese is made up for with all the kanji, yikes.
