LOL

Whilst jotting some stuff down in my note book I stumbled upon a poem that I had to write at uni. It was a quick, speed writing thing where we had to write a sonnet in a couple of minutes.

I think this accurately represents my love/hate relationship with poetry.

An Ode to Bad Poetry

A poet's life is nowhere near normal;
Normality doesn't scan all that well.
The big war between free verse and formal,
All serve to make this young poet's life hell.

I do struggle to create on demand;
Yes, I have agonized over this line.
I have spent two minutes, pen still in hand,
And I've never found it easy to rhyme.

I'm almost ready to give up on it,
In spite of all my effort and trial.
I'm finding it hard to find words that fit,
So to complete it may take me a while.

Yet my brain's managed to stick to the trend,
And drag this painful poem to an end.


Hee hee! I really hate writing poetry!

I think I might market my own brand of bad poetry XD
