mymetalphantom: (Van Helsing...what a dude)
Past couple of weeks left me on a bit of a downer. Nothing bad, just a lack of good, which can be just as depressing. Yet the past few days have been much better.

1. Bought Armando Iannucci's book The Audacity of Hype, which is very funny. I love Armando Iannucci.

2. Drinkies with an old friend on Friday night. We spent the whole time chatting rubbish and laughing at the world. It was very theraputic for the both of us.

3. Wrote a chapter of my Holmes story. It is about 3000 words long.

4. Realised that the chapter I had written didn't really fit in to the story and slowed the plot down too much.

5. Rewrote the beginning bit of said chapter so now it's just a saucy little PWP. Just needs to be edited and jazzed up a bit.

6. Was up early this morning so I could beat the only other intelligent person in my neighbourhood to the only copy of The Sunday Times at my corner shop. Beat him/her. Better luck next time, mate. I do feel a bit bad because I only bought it for the Beatles special in the supplement. I actually hate The Times.

7. Started making some Lestrade icons. Old Granada caps are so infuriatingly difficult to colourise! Have ten so far. Why is it that really adorable screencaps don't always make adorable icons? The world is perverse.

8. I'm also on a quest to become more knowledgeable. I'm currently trying to find out more about economics. If any of you have any other specialist subjects that you can recommend I look into I would be glad of the suggestions ;) I want to be able to pwn people in general knowledge quizzes!

9. Finally one last bit of semi-academic geekery, I'm also working on an extension of my dissertation. Because the original didn't drive me crazy enough, clearly.
