So I'm bored and temporarily unable to get to my TV and DVD player (damn!)

I have being watching my new DVDs though, which is all very exciting and squee worthy.

I have actually seen all these episodes before, but now I can watch them on a big screen and in a comfy chair and I can sit there with drinks and snacks! It is all amazing.

Vasily Livanov is very sexy and I love his voice like whoa! And I totally want to marry his Holmes because that would be the best thing ever! And Vitaly Solomin is sooo Watson and I love him a lot too. Just the fact that he is so suspicious of Holmes at first and then he challenges him to a boxing match and Mrs Hudson has some sherry waiting for him for when he gets beaten and I love Mrs Hudson too.

And The King of Blackmail...oh just brilliant. Just the Russian pronunciation alone - Meeel-verrr-tonn. And their shoddy attempt at burglary where almost everything goes wrong!

And then the...the one that's the Final Problem, whatever the Russian ep is called. Oh my God, totally a nightmare-inducing Moriarty who is all kinds of creepy! He's like a human spider *shudders*

But the fight at Reichenbach is brilliant, much better than Granada's I think. There is actual fighting and I love it so very much because I am a bit shallow for men in ripped clothes. Oh and so touching. Don't cry Watson.

Ahem, have I mentioned that I'm rather fond of this series?

I think the Russian Final Problem's fight scene is better than the Granada version, too. Much dirtier and more like they're actually trying to kill each other.

It gets quite hypnotic after a while. *loves it too* which is weird because I usually hate the stuff I make. This is just special though.

The fight is just so...fighty. It's quite clumsy as well, like an actual fight between two people who loathe each other so much that they're beyond all rational thought. which is the only explanation I can think of for two very intelligent men brawling on top of a mountain like idiots.

You're right, Watson clearly doesn't look happy. although in my personal canon Watson has no idea about Holmes's and Lestrade's "history"

My H/L shipping doesn't really extend much past Granada but then I do love JB and CJ very much!

The only part of the Russian version I've seen is the beginning of The King of Blackmail (up to where they visit the Diogenes Club) but the pronounciations are so cute! I like the way they say Mrs Hudson, especially. :D

The fights in Granada episodes are always so bad -- I can't remember which episode it is where Holmes goes to a pub and someone wants to fight him, but it was like this slow-motion thing and really unintentionally funny. XD
