Just too white and nerdy

I've had the same headache now since Sunday. Oww.

Anywho, enough of that.

Last night I was watching The Apprentice and the narrator said something like "Sir Alan tells the team to meet him in Chiswick"

To which I, completely without thinking, replied, "Chiswick?" in my very best Granada!Lestrade impression. Then realised with horror what I had done, and that I had in fact revealed to normal people the full extent of my nerdiness.

Luckily it was so nerdy that the "normal" people didn't get it and just thought I was being random. Phew.

In other news, I got annoyed at the BAFTAs and then got a bit excited over them. X Factor won which was a travesty but then David Mitchell won and so did The IT Crowd so that was all good. I know I'm late commenting on that but I was really not in the mood over the weekend.

also I totally wanna ship John Sessions and Kenneth Branagh now!

I am also trying to control my wrath over the BBC's remake of Reggie Perrin. I don't like it when people mess around with my favourite programmes on the specious pretext of "updating". Just fuck off with your updating, okay?

i love you for the "nerdy tourettes" comment. i think, after reading this post, i can safely diagnose myself as well.

ugh, headaches. i sympathize. today i'm headache-free (oh great, i've jinxed it now), but i never know.

i have a feeling you're going to get me back into holmes-y things. where should i begin?! i ask because you frequently mention "granada" sherlock holmes (which must be amazing).

david mitchell is adorable. i just finished watching the peep show awhile back, though i'm sad that BBC america no longer plays that mitchell and webb look. angst! serious angst!

doing nerdy things among normal people is the greatest, since they won't get the reference(s). ever.

We should form a support group XD

Headaches are bitches. I'm a long term sufferer, ever since I was in a car crash when I was eight.

Granada's production of Sherlock Holmes was, at it's peak, brilliant. The early episodes are really well done. The later ones are plagued by lazy writing and slightly poorer production values, also the lead actor's failing mental health becomes more and more apparent, which is a bit uncomfortable to watch.

Still though, at it's worst that production is better than 80% of what's on at the moment (or at the time actually).

Plus there are good slash-worthy moments

David Mitchell is adorable! He won the BAFTA for Peep Show, which I absolutely love.

I like it when people talk about BBC America. I find it rather fascinating...I don't really know why.

we should, we should! i'm trying to think of some instances of nerdy tourettes on my end... most of what i do is voluntary.

ow, a car accident? that's awful. i was diagnosed with chronic migraines in 2005. i keep a little diary of "triggers" so i can avoid causing myself misery. unfortunately, one of my triggers is anything sweet. *weeps* i'm a filthy masochist!

hmm, i'll have to check this out. is that where you get your lovely GIFs? you mentioned "slash-worthy" and my mind immediately thought of them. ha!

is it because you're internally laughing at the fact that i'll never get to watch the real BBC?! i think so.

My headaches seem to be triggered by anything fun, which is a bit of shitter really.

Granada Holmes is where I got this gif from

(This isn't a very slashy moment, but I keep trying to justify my desire to ship Holmes/Lestrade...don't you think he looks happy to see him?)

The rest are from Russia's LenFilms production, which is also brilliant and actually ten times more slashy. You should watch that too!

hum, maybe ;) To be fair although I generally love what's on the BBC (I should do, I pay enough for it) there are some pretty bad things on there as well (see the end paragraph on my entry).
